Love Lost - A Poem
59
somewhere along the line, it just slid down the drain
like water through a sieve
slipped away when our eyes were closed
backs turned
minds sleeping slightly...silently
had children...got jobs...misplaced what mattered
i cried...i tried
like dust in the wind
gone too fast to catch it
unable to put it together before it flies through the air
to the wind
up and away
like so many words
said, but never heard
lost in the turbulence
virgin words lost in the scurry...the hurry
unabsorbed
but like the thought process
neverending
how to give up
when to move on
the decision
makes me tired
makes me sad.

This is a place, a time and even emotions that many feel. Love is such a deep emotion and when it is taken away, or when it moves on, it hurts. We cry until we can cry no more at times. Well written poem. Voted up.
I love it when someone puts a feeling I've had into words. Lovely!

Oh such a hard place to be! And writing it out always seems to be helpful--your poem touched a special place for me---
